**After 10 years, Maya, of The Wool Barn, is no longer dyeing yarn. She has decided to focus on the pattern design side of her business.
Although, we can never replace Cashmere Sock, we have found a yarn that we feel is an equally luxurious substitute. Check out Fino by Julie Asselin. **
This extra fine merino base with 10% cashmere feels incredibly soft and plump. It takes color beautifully and feels wonderfully soft next to skin. A little bit of added nylon provides strength, making it suitable for socks, luxurious shawls, garments and baby knits.
We are currently the only ones in the US who carry this amazing yarn!!

This yarn is scrumptious! It has a totally luxurious feel. I did go up a half needle size for my socks because it seems a touch fuller than some traditional sock yarns and I didn't want tight cables...it's cashmere after all! The socks are so lovely and incredibly warm. The cable definition was lovely. I really think this yarn is more than just a sock yarn and would make beautiful, never want to take off, garments! I have my eye on a cabled cardigan pattern! |
This yarn just couldn't be any softer. It has a beautiful soft halo that you can't help but want to touch and feel. What an absolutely luxurious pair of socks this makes! It would also be a wonderful option for a shawl! Oh how incredibly cozy that would be! Might have to be my next project! |
